Hello families!

Just a reminder - there is no school tomorrow (Friday, June 9) as there is a PD Day. I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday!

Worked hard on our fractions practice! We will be having our final check in next week.


We worked on creating Book Reviews for our novel studies!


We planned a trip to a place in the world based on their climate. Ask me where I wanted to go!

IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES

  • June 15 – Healthy Hunger Popcorn Day
  • June 15 – SPIRIT DAY: Cool Clothes Day (Students can wear their FAVOURITE outfit to school on this day)

GRADE 5 SEND OFF

Parents or guardians can join us in our Northern Lights School Gymnasium for a short picture slide show highlighting some memories from the year, a frozen treat, and an opportunity to take a picture of your child with your child's teacher if you would like.

You will be sitting on the floor with your child during the slide show, so please bring a small blanket to lay out. (A few chairs will be available if you have mobility challenges.)

To give them something special for the 'send-off', our grade fives will be tie-dying a white shirt on Thursday, June 22.  After they are tie-dyed, students will have an opportunity for their classmates sign their shirt prior to wearing it.  

For the tie-dying activity, please send a white t-shirt that fits your Grade Five child to school with them before Wednesday, June 21.​​​

Hello families! Today we... Practiced our Drumfit routines with our groups! Reviewed algebra and worked on some problems. We also practiced our games for math night! We listened to music from New France. Ask me what the song was called! Important Upcoming Dates: May 11 after 2:00 – HUG & GO CLOSED TO ALL VEHICLES.  Please arrange an alternate meeting spot or walk onto the playground to pick up your children after school. (The food trucks will need to be in this lot to get ready for the evening.) Please DO NOT park in the staff parking lot either. Happy Friday, families! Thank you to those who have filled out the surveys for our Grade 5 Send Off! Also, thank you for taking the time to get a t-shirt for your child to participate in our tie-dying day! Please try to complete the survey and send a t-shirt before Wednesday, June 22. Today we: Had a community circle with the question prompt: if you could relive a moment in your life, what would it be? Ask your child what they answered! We learned about different types of clouds. And went outside to search for the different types in the sky! We went to the Makerspace to imagine new things. We worked on a secret Father's Day gift to celebrate our Dad's! Happy Monday, families! Today was a fun day in grade 5! It felt like it went by so quickly! We played kickball outside in the baseball diamond. We reviewed some fraction questions that were difficult. We read a REALLY important part of "City of Ember"! Ask me what happened! We listened to the Nose Creek Honour Band. We wrote about what we know and wonder about weather.
